Cloudy gray sky. Probably it is raining. It is not a good time to take pictures. However you are in some unique place and you must do this. If you point you camera at some dark object you will get a picture with the white sky and Adobe Photoshop cannot fix this problem. I also had the white sky problem even on a sunny day - see the picture on the left. How to avoid the white sky on your pictures?

I pointed the camera to the tree in the center. The camera selected the shutter speed = 1/100.
As a result I see many details but the sky is white. Nothing can be done. Adobe Photoshop cannot fix this problem.

I pointed camera a bit higher to catch (partially) the sky. The shutter speed = 1/200. Now you can see the blue sky but the right part of the picture is dark. Do not worry! Photoshop can fix the problem in seconds.

Using Adobe Photoshop

Select levels as it is shown above.

Move a slider on the histogram as it shown below. The center slider distributes darker and brighter colors without touching the most dark and the most bright parts of the picture.

See the result. The picture looks great! Compare with the picture on the top.

Conclusion

It is better to underexpose than to overexpose.
