The basics

Look at your favorite drawings, the comics that you read, the paintings that you admire. But what you should know about all of those is that they are all made of the basic shapes: circles, rectangles, triangles, squares, and ovals. To be able to create beautiful masterpieces, you should master the basics first. See the potential for use of each shape. Circles can be used for heads and eyes, rectangles for hips, triangles for noses, ovals for arms and shoulders. The possibilities of the use of the basic shapes in drawings are limitless. Master them and you will be one step closer to becoming a good graphic artist.

Imagination

The secret of every masterpiece lies in the ability of its creator to imagine. Before you pick up your pen and paper or your brush and canvas, think first of what you want to do. Imagine, what you want to do. Imagine how you are going to do it. Imagine each and every step. Imagine every part of the masterpiece being painted by you. Then imagine the end product. Your imagination is the door that will lead you to creating the best that you can do.

Practice

If you want to improve your drawing skills, there are three things that you should do: First is to practice, second is to practice some more, and third is practice even more. If imagination is the door, then the key to that door is practice. Practice drawing. Practice your basic shapes and practice your imagination. With these three things, your skill will improve in no time. As the saying goes, practice makes perfect.
