The first thing that one should look in an Au Pair Agency is safety and security of the children with the nanny. The au pair agency should have good credentials to its name so that one can be ensured that the child is in safe hands and no harm can be done to him/her. One can consult a few people to know about the reputation of a particular agency. Looking at the agency from other people's point of view would give one a true insight in to the efficiency of the agency. The nanny works for around 5 hours a day. However, when it comes to the child the work can be even for more than 5 hours sometimes. The nanny has to be given a room, food and some allowance for any expense she may have. Most of the times, the nannies come from different countries and belong to different culture. She has her own customs and traditions. One should always interview the nanny to get to know her better. One should always check for beliefs and thinking of the nanny which one would never want in their children. For example the nanny maybe highly superstitious but this quality would never be desired by most of the parents in their children. There are also some or traits that one would never want in their children. Similarly the au pairs are quite helpful in molding the mind of the child. The amount of time she spends with the child makes it quite natural to have an impact of her in the child. The nanny should be a positive person and should be able to instill good values in the child.
One should always check with the terms and conditions of the agency before deciding upon one. There are certain demands of the agency like holiday for the au pair etc which should always be considered before availing the service of an au pair agency.
