Learn a bunch of cool things you can do with Smart Objects! Also learn what Smart objects are and how and when to use them!





This video isn't too straightforward. It was originally intended for newbies. Therefore, it's quite basic... I might make a more advanced (and hopefully, better made) tutorial soon.





This tutorial will teach you to create a very nice effect on a text. Type some text. I used: TG using the font "Lucida console" the font color doesnt matter so just pick one.

Now go to Filter-Stylize-Emboss and use this settings. Nice, isn't it. Those of you who are deeper in the Photo manipulation thing will see that this technique would by very nice in order to create some Blending Textures.





When you've filled the background, then select your text tool, and add the text you want to add, make the colour of the text close to #3F3F3F A darker grey. Once done, you should have something similar to the image below.





Now take out your brush tool. A reasonable size should be about a third the height of your text. Set the color to brush with to White, and brush all the way through the middle of the text. You should be getting a yellowish tinge. Hold down your control button and click the text layer, but make sure that the Brush (or gloss, whatever you named it) layer is selected. Then go to Select -> Modify...





Using custom patterns is a great way to fill large areas. Open up a new document of 12 x 12 and select the pencil tool. Draw a pattern that will repeat. Here's the one that I've drawn.





Photoshop channels are a great tool for many purposes. You can use them for complex selection masks, applying filters with mapped opacity and even as a creation tool.





This is a quick tutorial on producing gritty, disgusting photos, which have a Halloween feel to them. If you need any more help, feel free to comment the video, and I'll try my hardest to give you a detailed response. Constructive criticism would be appreciated.





Color is not so impressive because of low Contrast. Press Ctrl + M to open Curve, pull the line to curve it up a little. Create a new layer mode Overlay, use Brush with black and white to draw some details.





Goto Filter > Artistic > Sponge. Adjust sliders so that the result looks like camoflauge. Goto Image > Adjustments > Color Balance. Adjust color sliders to give the color of camoflauge that you desire. You should now have your camoflauge texture.





Do not deselect yet. If you did then make step backward in history. Create new layer and fill the selection with black color. Now use Move Tool (V) to move black layer down. Make sure that there is no empty space left between two layers. You should have the following:





Adding rust. Make a new layer take a grunge brush you can use one from the Natural brush set found in photoshop thought I use a grunge brush and start spraying then change the layers blend to Color burn





Changing your coordinate scale actually interprets that your pixel points have been in a polar graph and regraphs them in a rectangular graph which is the normal graph most are familiar with. (if you took advvanced math in hs you may remember the polar graph) What we are doing is changing the way the pixels are oriented, applying an effect to them in that new state, then will change the graphing...
